Snow White – The Show and it’s Performances
Press Release: Snow White The Panto
Mirror Mirror On The Wall
-what’s the greatest Panto of them all?
The timeless magical fairy tale of Snow White, of course.
Metro Theatre is thrilled to present Snow White our Holiday Musical Pantomime, an annual tradition for more than 35 years. The fairest panto in the land hits the stage December 3, 2021 and continues through to January 3, 2022. Evening performances are at 7:30 pm with Matinees at 2 pm.
Our hero the fair Snow White, guided by The Dame, takes us through the enchanted forest, where we meet the Evil Queen, The Magic Mirror, and an odd selection of dwarfs in this zany and uproariously funny family pantomime.
Scotia Browner as Snow White and James Walker as The Dame, lead a cast of 15 talented singers, dancers, and actors to bring the show to life in a delicious blend of colourful scenery, sparkling costumes , toe-tapping tunes, dazzling dance routines, slapstick gags and oodles of audience participation.
“Snow White has been loved by many, for many years now. I felt it was an important piece of history that needed updating. Along with writer Erik Gow, we were able to update the classic story with a modern eye lens. While still setting the story in the age of the Grimm’s fairy tale, this Snow White wants to be more than just a princess, she wants love and hope and fun. She is a little spunky, fiery, but still a little in love. Covid-19 has been hard on the arts community. I am so happy to welcome both artists and audience back to the theatre – especially to the Panto.” – Chris Adams, Director
SNOW WHITE is written by panto playwright Erik Gow, directed by Chris Adams, choreographed by Suzanne Ouellette with musical direction by Katie-Rose Connors, stage managed by Kat Palmer and produced by Alison Schamberger Photo credits: Nicol Spinola.
Our charitable appeal is on behalf of Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre
“Despite of – and in the midst of – overwhelming odds, women in the Downtown Eastside are not victims in need of saving, but strong women who have a history of forming collective resilience, lifting one another up towards empowerment.” You are invited to bring in NEW hair accessories, jewelry, mirrors, brushes, and beauty products to put under our Christmas Tree in the lobby, for delivery to the organization in January.

The classic Snow White story is brought to life in true pantomime style, refreshed and enriched with laugh upon laugh! This fantastical tale of our hero Snow White, takes us through the enchanted forest, where we will meet her step-mother, the Evil Queen, The Magic Mirror, and an odd selection of dwarfs.
Snow White must decide between staying alive or finding love when she meets the Huntsman and the Prince, but don’t worry, the Dame will always give her the advice she needs.
In true panto fashion the whole family is invited to participate in the action to help Snow White make her way through the story – Boo and hiss the bad guy, the iconic Metro Panto Demon, and cheer on our hero under the protection of The Good Fairy.
Join Chris Adams, an award winning director, and the cast on Friday Dec 10, immediately following that evening’s performance of Snow White The Panto.
Chris and the cast will talk about:
- what it’s like producing and directing theatre during a world wide pandemic,
- what was it like having Christmas 2020 without a panto,
- and will answer all your burning questions about our much loved annual tradition. Audience questions are encouraged.
There is no additional charge for the Director’s Talk, just stay in your seats (keep your masks on) or move up a bit closer to the stage. The session will last approximately 20 minutes
This evening is always very popular, so be sure to grab your tickets quickly.
